About one month ago marked the worst mass shooting in U.S. history at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Although there are controversial arguments over this event, it is evident that it was made against one specific community for sure. Pulse nightclub is one of Orlando’s well-known gay bars. Members of the LGBTQ+ community were attacked and many were killed on June 12th, 2016. This tragic occasion left numerous friends and families utterly heartbroken. However, it brought the entire LGBTQ+ community together, along with many other supporters all around the world.
Songwriter Justin Tranter decided that he wanted to turn to music to help fund-raise for the victims that were lost in the shooting, along with the families that are mourning their losses. Tranter wrote the song “Hands,” which is sung by a handful of different artists. These artists include: Mary J Blige, Jason Derulo, Britney Spears, Tyler Glenn, Selena Gomez, Halsey, Ty Herndon, Imagine Dragons, Juanes, Adam Lambert, Mary Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, Kacey Musgraves, MNEK, Alex Newell, P!nk, Prince Royce, Nate Ruess, RuPaul, Troye Sivan, Jussie Smollett, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor. Each musician sings a different line in the song. Proceeds for the single will be going to Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund, the LGBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD. Music is always a positive way to raise money and awareness for an attack such as this one. Ryan Ace Music fully supports this idea, as we have opportunities for our community to come together and donate to us. We would love to spread the love of music to disadvantaged children at music schools in the area and eventually countrywide.
